Phangan is approximately 2.5 hours away from Surat Thani Province and approximately forty five min. from Koh Samui Island by ferry.
One of the easiest way to travel from BKK to Phangan is to get tickets from Songserm Travel for ferry and speed boats, buses, railway, air to Koh Phangan. Another option is to take an 60 minute flight by Bangkok Airways 6 times a day from Bangkok to Samui and catch the speed boat to Koh Phangan.
On the island a lot of things to fill up your day. When it's getting dark Koh Phangan offers a active nightlife, everything from typical Ladybars, Beach Bars to real Clubs or bigger Clubs.
Two of the most visited of the bays, Haad Rin and Chaloklum always are crowded with sun worshipers but there's also less visited, more hidden bays and beaches.
Kohphangan's monthly Full Moon Party is asia's most famous beach party, with international DJ's from all over the world lining up to get the honor of playing.
The southeastern part of Kho Phangan is the main party area which includes HaadRin and the full moon party beach. Nearly all of the area around Had Rin is mountains making most of the excellent fine white sandy beaches unable to reach by road, the only way to get to them is by long tail boat from HaadRin.
Still many have in mind that Phangan is just another island for budget traveler or party freaks mainly visiting the island because of the Full Moon Party on Haad Rin beach. But Phangan is not so small and Haad Rin is just a tiny and isolated part of Phangan.
